About us

In April 1979 the "Allgemeine Studentenausschuss" (ASTA) founded the "Verein zur Förderung der Kommunikation zwischen Trierer Bürgern und Studenten". The clubhouse Astarix was run collectively and provided group rooms in the basement for peace activists, opponents of nuclear power, as a women's café and the Green Party. In 1984, the then collective of about 14 people broke away from ASTA and took over the Astarix on their own.
